The Red Shed Project

In these pictures you see the walls nearing completion. The balls of plastic were recycled from my job and used as insulation. The yellow box you see is my homemade electrical panel. It was moved from the front of The Red Shed to a side wall. The Red Shed is powered by solar and a lot of the work done to it was from my cordless tools being charged on that system. I will give more details about the electricity and the solar array in another post or blog. The Red Shed is intended to be a low voltage low amp building and will be marked as such. The wiring was repurposed outlets from my home and extsion cords I had from previous projects. Two of the outlets are two prong only. The building is not to code but is safe.

Hebrews 6:10

“For God is not unrighteous to forget your work and labour of love, which ye have shewed toward his name, in that ye have ministered to the saints, and do minister.”

The Red Shed Project

Here you see various pictures of the progression of the red shed. I stapled sheets of cardboard to the backer boards before installing the wall boards. I also stuffed used plastic that I salvaged from my job in between the walls for insulation.

Proverbs 10:4

“He becometh poor that dealeth [with] a slack hand: but the hand of the diligent maketh rich.”

The Red Shed Project

You can see here that I tied the studs together from the pallets to create backer boards for the wall boards. I used the small boards cut to size to join the studs. I also used the studs to reinforce and brace in certain locations.

Psalms 32:8

“I will instruct the and teach the in the way which thou shalt go: I will guide the with mine eye.”

The Red Shed Project

Here you see I have started the first corner. The building was definitely not square by any means but I decided I would try my best to hide the imperfections as best I could as opposed to spending extra money, resources and time bringing it into square. That is what I love about carpentry and projects like this; they are usually very forgiving if you just take things into perspective.

2 Corinthians 5:7

“For we walk by faith, not by sight”

*NOTE*

THE BLUE PALLETS OR CHEP PALLETS ARE THE PROPERTY OF CHEP. PLEASE OBTAIN PERMISSION FROM THE COMPANY YOU ARE GETTING THEM FROM AS THEY MAY BE CHARGED FOR THESE. IT IS SIMILAR TO A CORE CHARGE ON AUTOMOTIVE PARTS.

The tree lamp you see in the picture was repurposed from our house. It was on its way to the scrap yard when I decided to use it. You will see what I do with it as the project progresses. The building is now almost through the cleaning and gutting phase.

Philippians 4:11-12

(11) ” Not that I speak in respect of want: for I have learned, in whatsoever state I am, therewith to be content .

(12) I know both how to be abased, and I know how to abound: every where and in all things I am instructed both to be full and to be hungry, both to abound and to suffer in need”.
